Mutual fund is a trust that pools the small savings of a number of small and medium investors. The fund collected through the various schemes is invested in different types of securities under the supervision of expert fund manager. Small and medium investors are participating in the capital market without assuming a very high degree of risk. Before investing in the mutual fund the investor must consider the various factor such as mutual scheme related factor, mutual company related factor and investor services related factors are some of the important factors. The present studied attempted to evaluated perception of the investors towards mutual fund schemes investments. The findings of the study proved that the mutual fund companies should disclose the important information's like return performance of the scheme, risk of the scheme, number of assets in the funds and reputation brand name of the fund on their prospectors.

Analysis of Investment Pattern of Mutual Funds Investors - An Empirical Study in Orissa

Mutual fund industry in India has developed rapidly and gained a lot of popularity from the past couple of decade, especially after incorporation of Unit Trust of India in 1964. There has concomitantly evolved a rich plausible academic literature consisting of numerous topics related to mutual funds. One of the most frequently addressed topics in the current literature is Investor's perception and preferences about various mutual funds schemes and the factors which influences different class of investors to invest in mutual funds. With this background, a survey was conducted among 200 mutual fund investors in nine urban and semi-urban cities of Orissa (India). On the basis of literature review, nine factors are chosen and grouped into four major components by applying Principal Component Analysis. Study reveals, safety, past return and liquidity are the most influencing factors in inducing most of the investors to opt for the mutual fund schemes. For the purpose of the study, parametric and non-parametric statistical methods have been employed. From the research point of view, such a study will help in developing and expanding knowledge in this field of personal investment.

The research attempts to study the analysis of risk perception towards mutual fund women investors in present market. A survey has been used to collect primary data 250 questionnaires were used to interpret the results. The study is based on survey conducted in share khan in Bangalore in the month of January to June 2016. Questionnaires were developed through a stage process involving a review of literature and brief study on women investors' perception on mutual fund investment in Sharekhan. For the purpose of analysis we used Microsoft excel and SPSS 16. After analysing the data, the problem which has been identified that most of the women investors are ready to bear risk in expectation of higher returns. There is a strong relationship in risk bearing capacity of investors while doing investment.
