It's God We Ought to Crucify

Book Description

The form of this essay and its treatment of its theme are experimental. The theme is the problem of the pursuit of power via separation of the source of authority or interpreter of the law from the source of validity of the law (for example, the separation of the religious authorities from God). The form is narrative, starting with the Book of Genesis and tracing the theme through the Law of the Bible, the Jewish Law of the Second Commonwealth, the beginning of the Roman Empire, the conversion of Ireland to Christianity, and finishing with the New World Order proclaimed during the Gulf War. Phelan is a barrister and lecturer in law at TCD. No index. Distributed by ISBS. Annotation copyrighted by Book News Inc., Portland, OR

Crucifying Religion

Book Description

Jesus is the end of all religion. All the sacrifices of priests and people are rendered null and void by Jesus' one-time-for-all-time sacrifice for all people, everywhere, past, present, and future tense. Jesus' death and resurrection save us from our own religiosity.
