Java P2P Unleashed

Book Description

"Java P2P Unleashed" provides a single source for Java developers who want to develop P2P systems. The book explains the benefits of each technology and shows how to fit the P2P "pieces" together - both in building new systems and integrating with existing ones. starts with a discussion of the P2P architecture, referencing similarities with existing, familiar systems while previewing several types of P2P applications. It explains how to plan ahead for security, routing, performance and other issues when developing a P2P application. Each technology included in the book - JXTA, Jini, JavaSpaces, J2EE, Web services - is approached from a P2P perspective, focusing on implementation concerns Java developers will face while using them. The last section includes several large-scale examples of different P2P applications - managing content, building communities, integrating services, routing messages, and using intelligent agents to gather information. The final chapter looks ahead to future developments in Java P2P technologies.

Mobility Aware Technologies and Applications

Book Description

It is becoming quite clear that there will be important technological advances in - bile and wireless connectivity, known as third-/fourth-generation (3G and 4G) mobile telecommunications systems. As a result we will be surrounded by ever-growing m- tidomain (technical and administrative) heterogeneous communications in both wired and wireless networks. This resulting environment deals with communication in m- tizoned networks, where people, devices, appliances and servers are connected to each other via different kinds of networks. Networks will be pervasive, ubiquitous, multis- vice, multioperatorand multiaccess. The mobility trend will also be spurred forward by the growing availability of mobile-enabled handheld devices. Mobile systems are expected to provide mobile users with cost-effective, secure, yet ubiquitous service access anywhere and anytime. Users will then continue to enjoy the new-found freedom mobile access provides and will have increasingly high exp- tations of mobility-aware applications that should be capable of seamlessly supporting the mobile lifestyle. The papers in this volume discuss issues from models, platforms, and architectures for mobility-aware systems to security, mobile agent technologies, sensitive com- nications, context awareness, mobile applications and management. They cover both practical experience and novel research ideas and concepts.

Multiparadigm Programming in Mozart/Oz

Book Description

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed extended postproceedings of the Second International Mozart/OZ Conference, MOZ 2004, held in Charleroi, Belgium in October 2004. Besides the 23 papers taken from the workshop, 2 invited papers were especially written for presentation in this book. The papers are organized in topical sections on language-based computer security, computer science education, software engineering, human-computer interfaces and the Web, distributed programming, grammars and natural language, constraint programming, and constraint applications.

Grid and Cooperative Computing - GCC 2005

Book Description

This volume presents the accepted papers for the 4th International Conference onGridandCooperativeComputing(GCC2005),heldinBeijing,China,during November 30 – December 3, 2005.The conferenceseries of GCC aims to provide an international forum for the presentation and discussion of research trends on the theory, method, and design of Grid and cooperative computing as well as their scienti?c, engineering and commercial applications. It has become a major annual event in this area. The First International Conference on Grid and Cooperative Computing (GCC2002)received168submissions.GCC2003received550submissions,from which 176 regular papers and 173 short papers were accepted. The acceptance rate of regular papers was 32%, and the total acceptance rate was 64%. GCC 2004 received 427 main-conference submissions and 154 workshop submissions. The main conference accepted 96 regular papers and 62 short papers. The - ceptance rate of the regular papers was 23%. The total acceptance rate of the main conference was 37%. For this conference, we received 576 submissions. Each was reviewed by two independent members of the International Program Committee. After carefully evaluating their originality and quality, we accepted 57 regular papers and 84 short papers. The acceptance rate of regular papers was 10%. The total acc- tance rate was 25%.

Fast SOA

Book Description

Fast SOA teaches readers how to apply native XML technology to SOA. This book discusses applications in data mediation using mid-tier data and service caching to handle the explosion of new schemas and new devices in an ever changing environment; data aggregation in the SOA middle-tier for off-line browsing, service acceleration through mid-tier caching and transformation, and bandwidth-needs reduction; increased service and application scalability and performance; successful evaluations of application server, XML parser, relational and native XML database, Enterprise Service Bus, Business Integration server, workflow server, and Web Service tools for performance, scalability, and developer productivity; improved service governance through XML persistence in SOA registries and repositories; and composite data services (CDS) to provide maximum reuse of software components and data, accelerate performance, and reduce development time and maintenance in your SOA. This book is recommended for software and data architects, IT application developers, and IT managers who are developing the next generation of web services and service oriented architectures. - Data mediation using mid-tier data and service caching to handle the explosion of new schemas and new devices in an ever changing environment - Data aggregation in the SOA middle-tier for off-line browsing, service acceleration through mid-tier caching and transformation, and bandwidth-needs reduction - Increased service and application scalability and performance - Successful evaluations of application server, XML parser, relational and native XML database, Enterprise Service Bus, Business Integration server, workflow server, and Web Service tools for performance, scalability, and developer productivity - Improved service governance through XML persistence in SOA registries and repositories - Composite data services (CDS) to provide maximum reuse of software components and data, accelerate performance, and reduce development time and maintenance in your SOA
