Excerpt from Journal of the Fifty-Fourth Annual Convention of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the State of North Carolina: Held in St. Paul's Church, Edenton, on Thursday, May 5th, Friday, May 6th, Saturday, May 7th, and Monday, May 9th, 1870 The attention of the Clergy is called to the State Law requiring that the titles to real estate shall be recorded in order to make them secure; and they are requested, in view of the importance of this matter, to see that all the titles to the property belonging to their respective Parishes are properly registered, without delay. They are also requested to send to the Secretary of the Convention, as early as they can, all titles to property belonging to the Diocese at large, which may be in their hands. The Secretary requests the Clergy to notify him of any errors - especially those in the names of persons, Parishes, Post-offices or places - which may have occurred in this Journal. He also desires particularly to be informed promptly of any changes which may take place among the Clergy previous to the next Convention. He wishes further to have the name and P. O. address of some person interested in the Church, in every Parish and Missionary station which has not a resident Minister. A resolution proposed by Mr. Ladson in relation to the appointment Of a Committee, to consider the best mode Of providing for the relief of aged and infirm Clergymen. (see page 31 Of the Journal.) A motion for the adoption Of a new Rule of Order, in relation to the order in which the Bishop'shall vote, which motion will be found recorded on page 34 of the printed Journal.
