'Idea' technologies are cognitive frameworks or schemes; for example, the Multiple Intelligence Theory proposed by Howard Gardner. When products are thoughtfully blended with subject matter content (such as mathematics or science concepts) for a specific audience in a specific educational context (such as a school), one is using 'educational technology'. The words educational and technology in the term educational technology have the general meaning. Educational technology is not restricted to the education of children, nor to the use of high technology.

Introduction to Ukraine is a brief overview of the country situated in Eastern Europe, which gained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. The capital of Ukraine is Kiev, and the official language is Ukrainian. The population of Ukraine is approximately 44 million, making it the 32nd most populous country in the world. Ukraine has a rich cultural and historical heritage, as well as a diverse landscape, including the Carpathian Mountains and the Black Sea coastline. Ukraine is an important agricultural producer, particularly of wheat, corn, and potatoes. Additionally, Ukraine has a significant industrial sector, including steel production and aerospace engineering. The political situation in Ukraine has been unstable since the overthrow of former President Viktor Yanukovych in 2014, with the ongoing conflict with Russia over the annexation of Crimea and the ongoing fighting in eastern Ukraine between Ukrainian government forces and Russian-backed separatists. Despite these challenges, Ukraine has made progress towards integration with the European Union, and in 2020, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced plans for major reforms in the country, including anti-corruption measures and judicial reform. Finally, Chapter 3 discusses computer science, AI, and HCI in terms of the six selected "grand challenge" areas and three time horizons, that is, short term (within the next 2 years), midterm (2 to 6 years), and long term (more than 6 years from now) and presents additional recommendations in these areas.
