Excerpt from Lectures, Historical, Doctrinal, and Practical, on the Catechism of the Church of England I had collected materials for a history of catechetical in struction generally, and of the Church Catechism in partien lar; but circumstances, over which I had no control, have prevented me from securing the leisure necessary to arrange and condense them for publication. I have the less reason to regret this, inasmuch as a task, nearly similar in design and Character, has been satisfactorily accomplished by the late Rev.
