Let's Visit Panoramic Tel Aviv. A fairly new city in Israel, but with interesting and historic architecture, nonetheless. From entering Israel at the sprawling Ben Gurion Airport and its massive Arrivals Hall, to highway skylines and inner city landscapes, Tel Aviv has excitement from east to west, north to south. Hotels, government buildings, and private companies have built huge buildings, from modern building materials, glass that reflects the beauty of the neighborhoods that they are in! Street Art is monumental. Tel Aviv is on the coastline of the Mediterranean Sea, and Alma Beach maintains historic landmarks, from the Clock Tower, to Mahmudiyya Mosque, with panoramic views of the Sea. The Azrieli Mall is massive horizontally, as well as vertically! Old Tel Aviv is being preserved in the shadow of new Tel Aviv, with new skyscrapers rising above, and new office and retail being built behind existing facades. Enjoy!

This guide is useful whether you are traveling to Israel with a group or studying about Israel in your home. It is filled with practical information that will enhance your tour experience and deepen your personal knowledge of the Land of the Bible and Bible times. It is designed to help both young and mature Christ-followers to grow in their knowledge of the Scriptures. But it can be used by anyone interested in knowing more about Israel, Christ-follower or not. There are a variety of maps and personal photos in this guide. Many of the maps I created with Accordance Software, which will be consistent throughout the guide. The maps and photos will help you to visualize the topic or land area you are reading about. There is a list of the major sites in Israel, Jordan, and Egypt in alphabetical order. There is also a Quick Bible Reference Guide to assist you in finding more Scriptures about various sites in the Holy Land. Many people who travel to Israel wonder about communicating with the locals on their trip. This is a problem that you will hardly ever experience on a tour. However, to get a feel for the language, there is a section of important words, phrases, and prayers that will be helpful on your trip. I have included a section on terminology--a glossary of common words, names, and events found in the Bible and in history. There are biographies of many important historical and biblical characters. Learning about them in advance will enhance your time in Israel. They will 'come alive' as you see them in the context of their time. Finally, to organize the material, I have divided this guide into three sections: Section I: Getting Ready for the Trip Section II: Getting Acquainted with the Holy Land Section III: Additional Reference Material. I have told the many guests on my tours that with just a ten-day trip to the Holy Land, they will know as much or more Bible History and Geography than most first year Bible College students. I believe this to be true. When you can put the events, places, and characters of the Bible in their context, it really comes alive. You will never read your Bible the same again! Happy traveling, everyone! Author Bio: Pastor Rick was born in Arizona and raised in Southern California. New York Times and Los Angeles Times Bestseller! As every day brings urgent reports of growing water shortages around the world, there is no time to lose in the search for solutions. The U.S. government predicts that forty of our fifty states-and 60 percent of the earth's land surface-will soon face alarming gaps between available water and the growing demand for it. Without action, food prices will rise, economic growth will slow, and political instability is likely to follow. Let There Be Water illustrates how Israel can serve as a model for the United States and countries everywhere by showing how to blunt the worst of the coming water calamities. Even with 60 percent of its country made of desert, Israel has not only solved its water problem; it also had an abundance of water. Israel even supplies water to its neighbors-the Palestinians and the Kingdom of Jordan-every day. Based on meticulous research and hundreds of interviews, Let There Be Water reveals the methods and techniques of the often offbeat inventors who enabled Israel to lead the world in cutting-edge water technology. Let There Be Water also tells unknown stories of how cooperation on water systems can forge diplomatic ties and promote unity. Remarkably, not long ago, now-hostile Iran relied on Israel to manage its water systems, and access to Israel's water know-how helped to warm China's frosty relations with Israel. Beautifully written, Seth M. Siegel's Let There Be Water is and inspiring account of the vision and sacrifice by a nation and people that have long made water security a top priority. Despite scant natural water resources, a rapidly growing population and economy, and often hostile neighbors, Israel has consistently jumped ahead of the water innovation-curve to assure a dynamic, vital future for itself. Every town, every country, and every reader can benefit from learning what Israel did to overcome daunting challenges and transform itself from a parched land into a water superpower.

Winner of the Jewish Book of the Year Award The first comprehensive yet accessible history of the state of Israel from its inception to present day, from Daniel Gordis, "one of the most respected Israel analysts" (The Forward) living and writing in Jerusalem. Israel is a tiny state, and yet it has captured the world’s attention, aroused its imagination, and lately, been the object of its opprobrium. Why does such a small country speak to so many global concerns? More pressingly: Why does Israel make the decisions it does? And what lies in its future? We cannot answer these questions until we understand Israel’s people and the questions and conflicts, the hopes and desires, that have animated their conversations and actions. Though Israel’s history is rife with conflict, these conflicts do not fully communicate the spirit of Israel and its people: they give short shrift to the dream that gave birth to the state, and to the vision for the Jewish people that was at its core. Guiding us through the milestones of Israeli history, Gordis relays the drama of the Jewish people’s story and the creation of the state. Clear-eyed and erudite, he illustrates how Israel became a cultural, economic and military powerhouse—but also explains where Israel made grave mistakes and traces the long history of Israel’s deepening isolation. With Israel, public intellectual Daniel Gordis offers us a brief but thorough account of the cultural, economic, and political history of this complex nation, from its beginnings to the present. Accessible, levelheaded, and rigorous, Israel sheds light on the Israel’s past so we can understand its future. The result is a vivid portrait of a people, and a nation, reborn.
