It introduces Sexton - an opportunistic womaniser who uses his position as a police officer and a nightclub owner to get what he wants, both in the bedroom and in his quest to find the killer. When Sexton is asked to look into an eight-year-old cold case because a dead dog has been found on Dartmoor, he's not overly thrilled. The investigation in and around his home town of Torquay quickly leads to a prime suspect but all is not as it seems, with Sexton having to travel to France to uncover the truth behind what happened eight years earlier.
