I felt, though the floods had "lifted up their voice" and "their waves," that "the Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea." The shore was crowded with people; for though the sea was so rough, and the wind so high, the sun shone brightly, and a spectacle of an arresting kind was at hand.
