The focus is on the things that users want to do when they buy PhotoImpact or when they find it included with their new hardware purchase. The Official Guide includes a fully functioning 30-day trial of the software on the CD, and also include the project files from the book, animation sequences and filter effects. The images on the CD show off PhotoImpact's lighting effects (fireworks, lens flares, spotlight and comets) as well as the type effects (Glass, Metal, Fire and Ice) and the Particle Effects which include snow, rain, stars, bubbles and fireflies. The CD also shows how these effects can be used in animation. The book also notes when a PhotoImpact feature is analogous to a Photoshop or Fireworks or Photo-Paint feature.
