Book Description

Cocaine use has serious health, economic, and criminal justice implications for the nation. This report provides a status report on recent progress made in finding an effective treatment for cocaine users (cognitive/behavioral therapies, pharmacotherapy, acupuncture). Reviews the various types of federally funded treatment approaches evaluated over the past five years to determine the extent to which these therapies have proven successful. Identifies additional research initiatives to increase our knowledge of cocaine treatment effectiveness.
