There are numerous criteria for measuring the growth and development of branches of chemistry. This valuable book illustrates a particular aspect of the growth of organosilicon chemistry. The extent of this field has developed so greatly in recent years that it now is desirable to reclassify parts to bring together hitherto frag mented and relatively disparate sections. This has been accomplished by the presently available large units which have been deSignated as "organosilicon heterocompounds. " Simplified expressions of such classification are structural units of the general type C - Si - heteroelement and heteroelement-C - Si, in which there are attached to the organosilicon moiety elements such as oxygen, nitrogen, metals, etc. This arrangement per mits the correlation of extensive material, which will be invalu able to chemists in many areas, both in and out of organosi- con chemistry. Because of the wealth of information, the authors are currently engaged in the preparation of companion volumes arranged on this general principle. The scope is broad, and includes material which will prove highly interesting and useful to those in academic, industrial, and governmental circles. There is not only a wide coverage of the literature generally, but the listings of patent references and of general reviews and books are among the most complete so far presented.

Advances in Energy, Environment and Chemical Engineering collects papers resulting from the conference on Energy, Environment and Chemical Engineering (AEECE 2022), Dali, China, 24-26 June, 2022. The primary goal is to promote research and developmental activities in energy technology, environment engineering and chemical engineering. Moreover, it aims to promote scientific information interchange between scholars from the top universities, business associations, research centers and high-tech enterprises working all around the world. The conference conducts in-depth exchanges and discussions on relevant topics such as energy engineering, environment technology and advanced chemical technology, aiming to provide an academic and technical communication platform for scholars and engineers engaged in scientific research and engineering practice in the field of saving technologies, environmental chemistry, clean production and so on. By sharing the research status of scientific research achievements and cutting-edge technologies, it helps scholars and engineers all over the world comprehend the academic development trend and broaden research ideas. So as to strengthen international academic research, academic topics exchange and discussion, and promote the industrialization cooperation of academic achievements.

All of us are dependent on a built environment constructed and maintained by civil and hydraulic engineers, and for those working in these fields, keeping up to date with the latest technological developments is vital for the safe and efficient design and operation of this infrastructure. This book presents the proceedings of HCET 2023, the 8th International Technical Conference on Frontiers of Hydraulic and Civil Engineering Technology, held from 25-27 September 2023 in Wuhan, China. HCET is an international conference which aims to enhance the development of hydraulic and civil engineering in China, with a focus on high-end, intelligent and green technologies. It seeks to do this by consolidating global wisdom and achievements and providing scientific support. HCET also offers an excellent opportunity for scientists, researchers and engineers from around the world to exchange their findings and discuss developments, establishing a basis for national and international collaboration. A total of 316 contributions were received for the 2023 edition, of which 187 were ultimately accepted after a rigorous review process and checks for quality and plagiarism. Topics covered include the research and development of concrete structure design and analysis; structural mechanics and structural engineering; building and future materials; hydraulic engineering; geological exploration and earthquake engineering; building technology; urban planning; road, bridge and traffic engineering; energy infrastructure; environmental engineering and advanced engineering technologies, and interdisciplinary sciences and applications. Covering a wide range of subjects related to hydraulic engineering and civil engineering technology and associated transdisciplinary sciences, the book will be of interest to all those working in the field.
