Excerpt from Proceedings of the School Committee of Boston, 1874 The question being upon accepting the report of the committee, Mr. Toland moved, and it was voted to divide the question, in order to take the question separately upon so much of the report as related to the certificates of the two women elected as members of the Board. The report was then accepted, excepting the portion relating to the said certificates. The question then being upon the acceptance of the remainder of the report, Mr. T oland called for the read ing of the City Solicitor's opinion, referred to this Board from the Board of last year, and the opinion was read.
