Rare Decays of Light Mesons

Book Description

Meson Production, Interaction And Decay - Proceedings Of The Workshop

Book Description

This workshop proceedings presents interesting lectures on the theoretical and experimental problems which may be studied using the new GeV accelerators. It provides a discussion of ongoing and planned experiments on the CELCIUS, COSY, LEAR, SATURNE and SIS accelerators as well as general descriptions of the experimental techniques applied in these experiments. There is special focus on the meson production mechanism in various reactions, meson spectroscopy and meson decay modes.

B Decays

Book Description

This 2nd edition is an extensive update of "B Decays?. The revisions are necessary because of the extensive amount of new data and new theoretical ideas. This book reviews what is known about b-quark decays and also looks at what can be learned in the future. The importance of this research area is increasing, as evidenced by the approval of the luminosity upgrade for CESR and the asymmetric B factories at SLAC and KEK, and the possibility of experiments at hadron colliders. The key experimental observations made thus far, measurement of the lifetimes of the different B species, B0-B0 mixing, the discovery of ?Penguin? mediated decays, and the extraction of the CKM matrix elements Vub and Vcb from semileptonic decays, as well as more mundane results, are described in great detail by the experimentalists who have been closely involved with making the measurements. Theoretical progress in understanding b-quark decays using HQET and lattice gauge techniques are described by theorists who have developed and used these techniques.Synthesizing the experimental and theoretical information, several articles discuss the implications for the ?Standard Model? and how further tests can be done using measurements of CP violation in the B system.

High Energy Accelerators (Heacc 92) - Proceedings Of The Xv International Conference (In 2 Volumes)

Book Description

The High Energy Accelerator Conference has always been the monitor of the state of the art and the new trends in planning, construction and operation of large particle accelerators. It is held every three years. The 1992 conference is devoted to High Energy Hadron Accelerators and Colliders, Linear Colliders, e⁺e⁻ Storage Rings and related Technologies for these machines. In addition to status reports and contributed papers, the program features twelve survey talks which include summaries of individual poster papers.

International Conference on High Energy Physics/ International Union of Pure and Applied Physics, 24. 1988, München

Book Description

This was the most recent in a highly esteemed series of biannual Rochester conferences. 20 invited reviews and about 200 invited contributions on all aspects of current research in high energy and particle physics give a complete and lively account of achievements, activities and goals in the field. Topics discussed include results from proton-antiproton and electron-positron colliders, spectroscopy and decays of heavy flavors, weak mixing and CP violation, non-accelerator particle physics, heavy ion collisions, future accelerators, detector developments, the standard electroweak model and beyond, the status of perturbative QCD, superstrings and unification, new developments in field theory, non-perturbative methods, and cosmology and astrophysics.
