Thomas Quicksilver, known to his classmates as "Pucker," has always been an outsider. His crazy mother, the secret of his family’s strange origins, and above all, the terrible scars on his face from a childhood fire—these things have kept Thomas isolated and alone. Now, at seventeen, a quest to save his dying mother takes Thomas back to his birthplace, an alternate world called Isaura from which he and his mother were exiled years earlier. In Isaura, Thomas’s scars will be magically healed. He will fall in love for the first time. And he will face a devastating, impossible choice. In shimmering prose, Melanie Gideon’s new novel takes readers from the lonely places in a boy’s soul to a miraculous world of infinite possibility and frightening temptation.

A girl and her friends enact a scheme to get her first kiss over with before she has to lock lips on stage for the school play in this charming middle grade rom-com in the spirit of Meg Cabot—now with a fresh new look! Prince Charming wakes Snow White with a kiss. My world came crashing down with two words. A kiss?! Grace Shaw just scored the coveted lead in her school play, Snow White, alongside James Lowe—her hot, popular Prince Charming. There’s just one problem: they kiss at the end. And Grace has never been kissed before. Which means that Grace’s role sounds more like her worst nightmare than a dream come true. So, Grace’s two best friends propose Operation Pucker Up—a plan for Grace to score a kiss before opening night so she doesn’t make a fool of herself in front of an audience. As if Grace isn’t having a hard enough time, her estranged father suddenly reappears after leaving six months earlier. Her mom and sister welcome Dad back with open arms, but Grace can’t simply forgive and forget. With opening night fast approaching, Operation Pucker Up reaching ridiculous levels, and family drama teeming behind the scenes, Grace is beginning to think all this love stuff is way too complicated. Will she find a way to have her happily ever after—and seal it with a kiss—both onstage and off?

"In 1963 ... there was no way I could have known, sitting in a classroom on that beautiful campus in Ohio, that by raising my hand I would be going to war in Vietnam and that I would see things, hear things and do things that most people cannot imagine."--James Joyce. The author entered the United States Army through ROTC, and trained to fly helicopters in combat over Vietnam. He flew both Huey "Slicks" and Huey "Gunships": the former on defense flying troops into battle, and the latter in taking the battle to the enemy. Here he relives his experiences flying and fighting, with special attention given to pilots' day-to-day lives. This entry refers to the LARGE PRINT edition. "In 1963...there was no way I could have known, sitting in a classroom on that beautiful campus in Ohio, that by raising my hand I would be going to war in Vietnam and that I would see things, hear things and do things that most people cannot imagine."--James Joyce. The author was drawn into the United States Army through ROTC, and went through training to fly helicopters in combat over Vietnam. His experiences are notable because he flew both Huey "Slicks" and Huey "Gunships": the former on defense as he flew troops into battle, and the latter on offense as he took the battle to the enemy. Through this book, the author relives his experiences flying and fighting, with special attention given to his and other pilots' day-to-day lives--such as the smoke bombing of Disneyland, the nickname given to a United States Army-sponsored compound for prostitution. Some of the pilots Joyce served with survived the war and went on to have careers with commercial airlines, and many were killed.

Pucker or Puckering is the most used (abused?) term in the garment manufacturing industry. Pick up any quality controllers report, and the first thing that will strike your eye will be “…Puckering in armhole, …Puckering in neckline binding, …control Puckering in bottom hem…” the list is endless. Buying office quality controllers are as enamoured of this term as much as manufacturers abhor it. What is it that makes it so distasteful? Why does it occur? How can it be controlled? While there are numerous leaflets, documents and articles available on pucker, we have found that the majority of them lay great stress on “inherent pucker” (only material parameters). In this booklet have tried to include process parameters as well as sewing of lightweight fabrics. All said and done, the problem is so intricately interdependent that exhaustive compilation is well nigh impossible. We are sure this booklet will help manufacturers to understand the rationale behind this publication and we will consider our effort successful if enthusiastic readers regularly inform us about newer methods to tackle the problem.
