The First Annual Report and Resource Accounts on the Work of the National Archives and the First Report of the Advisory Council on National Records and Archives

Book Description

In April 2003, the Public Record Office and the Historical Manuscripts Commission merged to form The National Archives, a new organisation to cover both public records (government and the law courts) and private archives. This is the first annual report for the new body, which sets out its activities, performance against key targets and resource accounts for the financial year 2003-04. Events during this period included a reunion of First World War veterans, and the launch of a new website 'Moving here' to explain and celebrate the history of Irish, Caribbean, Jewish and South Asian migration to England over the past 200 years.
