A Site Investigation (SI) was conducted at the 151st Air Refueling Group of the Utah Air National Guard (Base), located at Salt Lake City International Airport, Salt Lake City, Utah. The SI was performed under National Guard Bureau's Installation Restoration Program (IRP). Objectives of the SI were to confirm the presence or absence of contaminants, preliminarily determine risk, and evaluate the potential for contaminant migration. SI activities at the Base were conducted under the IRP at the following sites: Basewide - Background Soil Boring/Monitoring Wells and City Drain Canal; Site 1 - Former Pesticide Dump; Site 2 - Waste POL Fuel Spill; Site 3 - Drum Burial Locations; Site 4 - Fire Training Area 1; Site 5 - Fire Training Area 2; Site 6 - Ramp Washdown; Site 7 - Oil Sludge Pond; Site 8 - Building 10 Underground Storage Tank (UST); Site 9 - Building 40 UST Site 10 - Petroleum, Oils, and Lubricant (POL) facility.

This report presents the results from a Remedial Investigation (RI) for two sites at the Utah Air National Guard (UANG) Base located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation (Stone & Webster) performed the work for the Air National Guard (ANG) Readiness Center under Task No. 2 of Contract No. DAHA9O-94-D-0009. The two sites investigated are identified as Installation Restoration Program (IRP) Site 8, a former underground storage tank (UST) location, and IRP Site 10, an existing petroleum, oil, and lubricants (POL) yard. The RI was conducted as outlined in the Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study (RI/FS) Work Plan prepared by Stone & Webster and submitted to and approved by the ANG in May 1993. The field work associated with the RI was performed in June, July, and August 1995.

A Site Investigation (SI) was performed at the Montana Air National Guard. The SI was conducted under the Air National Guard Readiness Center's (ANGRCs) Installation Restoration Program (IRP). The Objectives of the SI were to confirm the presence or absence of contaminants and to evaluate the potential for contaminant migration. SI activities were conducted at eight sites at the base: four fire training areas, three dry wells and a drainage ditch. As a result of the SI, no further action was recommended at three sites.
