Book Description
This report presents a cost analysis of Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) production from chlorosulfonic acid, lauryl alcohol, and sodium hydroxide. The process examined is a typical sulfonation process. In the process examined, lauryl alcohol reacts with chlorosulfuric acid (sulfonation). The product is neutralized with sodium hydroxide, producing the surfactant. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): Keywords: Sodium Sodecyl Sulfate, SDS, NaDS, Sodium Laurilsulfate, Caustic Soda, Sulfation, Sulfurylation
