Soil Stabilization with Portland Cement

Book Description

This report surveys the available information on mixtures of soil and cement. Included are data on (1) properties of cement-treated soil, (2) factors influencing properties of cement-treated soil, (3) uses of cement-treated soil and bituminous surfacing requirements, (4) preliminary surveying, sampling, testing and mix design for cement- treated soil construction, (5) structural design of soil- cement bases, (6) cement-treated soil construction, (7) engineering control of construction, and (8) field performance of soil-cement base courses.

Soil Stabilization with Cement and Lime

Book Description

Soil stabilization is the process whereby soils and related materials are made stronger and more durable by mixing with a stabilizing agent. These techniques are used for road construction in most parts of the world, although the circumstances and reasons for resorting to stabilization vary considerably.

Soil Stabilization by Admixing Portland Cement

Book Description

Paper 1: A method for determining the cement content of freshly-mixed cement-treated base by means of an electrical conductivity cell is described. Paper 2: Previous work has shown good correlation between cement requirements for soil-cement and specific horizons in 43 agricultural soil series. To check the validity of such correlations further and to expand the results to Iowa, a number of loess, sand and glacial till soil series were sampled in various horizons and tested.
