He married Maria Elizabeth Walborn, living in New York for a while before settling in Tulpehocken, Pennsylvania. Information on his descendants is the subject of this material. The majority of these descendants have remained in Pennsylvania and the surrounding area.

Cristoph Hacker was born in Germany in 1697. He married Anna Margaretha Jock in 1723. They emigrated to America where they settled in Pennsylvania.










The Blake-Ambrose Family History


Book Description

Simon S. Blake was born in Martinsburg, Bedford (later Blair) Co., Pennsylvania, 29 October 1829, the son of Burdine Blake (1800-1874) and Mazey Ann Simpkins (1794-1867). He married Mary Magdalena Ambrose (1836-1909), the daughter of John Walker Ambrose (1798- 1880) and Salome Kanable (1804-1882), 18 January 1855, in Orion, Wisconsin. They had ten children, two died in infancy. He served in the Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry for three years during the Civil War. He died 5 March 1904 in Richland Center, Wisconsin. Descendants are scattered throughout the United States.

Descendants of Peter and Sophia (Lauer) Ruth


Book Description

Johann "Peter" Ruth was born ca. 1700 at Steinberg, Germany, the son of Johann Melchior and Maria Catharina Trein Ruth. Anna "Sophia" Lauer was born in 1703 at Hierstein, Germany, the daughter was Hans "Claus" and Maria "Margaretha" Wentz Lauer. Peter Ruth and Sophia Lauer were married in 1724 at Wolfersweiler, Germany. They had four sons, the first three born 1724-1728 at Walhausen, Germany. The family immigrated to America in 1733 and probably settled first in the Myerstown or Stouchsburg area of Berks County, Pennsylvania. After Sophia's death, he married 2) Catharin Mayer Meyer. They had ten children. He died in 1771 in Cumru Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. Descendants of his oldest three sons lived in Pennsylvania, Illinois, and elsewhere.
