The Blind Watchmaker

Book Description

As readable and vigorous a defense of Darwinism as has been published since 1859.--The Economist.

The Blind Watch

Book Description

The Blind Watch has a twofold purpose. Firstly, it aims to expose some of the salient inadequacies and fallacies of modern atheism. Secondly, and more fundamentally, it is intended to expand our thinking about nature in general and about the meaning of nature for a Christian understanding of human beings. For systematic reasons, the book focuses on Richard Dawkins' The Blind Watchmaker, which has become a classic on modern atheism. In contrast to Dawkins' work, the present book describes the watch, i.e. the atheistic scientist, not the watchmaker, as “blind”, insofar as the scientist calculates everything, but sees very little. By confronting the atheism of Dawkins with the philosophical (Heraclitus and the Stoics) and the theological (the Apostle Paul and Augustine) traditions, the book develops a fundamental understanding of nature as nature that leads to a definition of life quite different from that of the evolutionary biologists.

Invisible

Book Description

Author Jennifer Rothschild has a story for you. It's about an unlikely couple, an unusual courtship, a beautiful wedding, and an illicit affair. Despite this situation, the marriage did not fail. It flourished. Here is the story of Hosea's love for Gomer—a woman who might have disappeared into her transgressions if not for the love of her husband. It's a beautiful illustration of the story of God and Israel. Believe it or not, it's your story too. God chose you and loves you. If you wander off, He will find you. If you are afraid, He will reassure you. If you are broken, He will restore you. If you are ashamed, He will cover you. If you give up on Him, He will not give up on you. No matter where you are, God sees who you are and loves you faithfully. Through the story of Hosea and Gomer, God tenderly reaches out to you and whispers, "My daughter, my name and nature are love. My name makes you lovely. Because I am worthy, I make you worthy. I am here to remind you of who you are. You are never invisible to me."

Blind God's Bluff

Book Description

Seems the stranger is actually a powerful local god who is involved in a high-stakes Florida poker tournament against various supernatural challengers. And with his eyes currently missing, he needs somebody to take his place at the gaming table. Before Billy knows it, he finds himself playing against the likes of an ancient Egyptian mummy, an unbearably seductive succubus, a mechanical man, an insect queen, and a cannibalistic beast-man. And not just cards are in play; magic, bloodshed, and cheating are not only expected, they’re encouraged. Everybody, including a sexy satyr-girl with her own cards up her sleeve, thinks that Billy is in way over his head. But Billy is a born gambler and, when the chips are down, he might just change his luck for good! Blind God's Bluff is an outrageously addictive urban fantasy that will keep you flipping pages until the very last hand.
