The Covenanters in Moray and Ross (Classic Reprint)

Book Description

Excerpt from The Covenanters in Moray and Ross IN response to a request conveyed to me at a public meeting held in Nairn to welcome me back, after an absence of sixteen years, to the scene of my former labours, I have agreed to issue a Second Edition of these Lectures which have been now for several years out of print, but are still inquired for in the North of Scotland. I should have liked to have re-written them, adding a supplementary chapter on the Religious History of Moray since the Revolution, but my visit to Europe, undertaken for purpose of health, being limited, I must content myself with a few corrections and the addition of an explanatory note or two. For the same reason, I must leave the correction of the press to the publishers. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Excerpt from The Covenants and the Covenanters: Covenants, Sermons, and Documents of the Covenanted Reformation The Covenants, Sermons, and Papers in this volume carry the readers back to some of the brightest periods of Scottish history. They mark important events in that great struggle by which these three kingdoms were emancipated from the despotisms of Pope, Prince, and Prelate, and an inheritance of liberty secured for these Islands of the Sea. The whole achievements of the heroes of the battlefields are comprehended under that phrase of Reformers and Martyrs, The Covenanted Work of Reformation. The attainments of those stirring times were bound together by the Covenants, as by rings of gold. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Tales of the Covenanters

Brock, and the value of the book is enhanced by a chapter giving a general view of the Characters, Literature, Aims, and Attained Objects of the Covenanter, which, through the kindness of Messrs.
