The Culture of Citrus Fruits Under the Climatic and Geographical Conditions Pertaining to the Murray Valley (Classic Reprint)

Book Description

Excerpt from The Culture of Citrus Fruits Under the Climatic and Geographical Conditions Pertaining to the Murray Valley During the expansion of the citrus industry that has within recent years taken place along the Murray Valley the absence of any book of a general nature dealing with the culture of citrus fruits under local conditions has often been a considerable handicap to new growers in the laying out and management of their plantations. It is with the object of attempting to remedy this disability that this work is published, and it is the author's hope that new and prospective citrus growers may find the information herein contained of some use to them. A considerable portion of the subject matter contained in the following pages has been taken from the author's previous works - from a pamphlet entitled Orange Culture, published in 1914, and from Fruitgrowing under Irrigation, published in 1918. The whole of such extracts from these works as are herein incorporated have been revised, two new chapters have been added, and an endeavor made to present the subject to the reader in a plain and concise form.
