The Clemmer family originally of Germany. Henrich (Henry) Clemmer (1700-1791) and his brother, Johannes, arrived at Philadelphia, Pa. in 1730. Johannes (John) (d. 1737) settled in Salford Twp. Henry settled in Franconia Twp., Montgomery (then Philadelphia) County, Pennsylvania. He was a member of Franconia Mennonite Congregation. He was married to Maria? (1720- 1777). Descendants live in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, Canada and else- where.
