Sri Ramakrishna is widely known as a nineteenth-century Indian mystic who affirmed the harmony of all religions on the basis of his richly varied spiritual experiences and eclectic religious practices, both Hindu and non-Hindu. In Infinite Paths to Infinite Reality, Ayon Maharaj argues that Sri Ramakrishna was also a sophisticated philosopher of great contemporary relevance. Through a careful study of Sri Ramakrishna's recorded oral teachings in the original Bengali, Maharaj reconstructs his philosophical positions and analyzes them from a cross-cultural perspective. Sri Ramakrishna's spiritual journey culminated in the exalted state of "vijñana," his term for the "intimate knowledge" of God as the Infinite Reality that is both personal and impersonal, with and without form, immanent in the universe and beyond it. This expansive spiritual standpoint of vijñana, Maharaj contends, opens up a new paradigm for addressing central issues in cross-cultural philosophy of religion, including divine infinitude, religious pluralism, mystical experience, and the problem of evil. Sri Ramakrishna's vijñana-based religious pluralism--when grasped in all its subtlety--proves to have major philosophical advantages over dominant Western models. Moreover, his mystical testimony and teachings not only cut across long-standing debates about the nature of mystical experience but also bolster recent defenses of its epistemic value. Maharaj further demonstrates that Sri Ramakrishna's unique response to the problem of evil resonates strongly with Western "soul-making" theodicies and contemporary theories of skeptical theism. A pioneering interdisciplinary study of one of India's most important philosopher-mystics, Maharaj's book is essential reading for scholars and students in philosophy of religion, theology, religious studies, and Hindu studies.

Heaven is here, with us, all the time and we can access it at any moment. The only problem is that we are not aware of that possibility. Everybody would like to get in Paradise and spend the rest of the existence over there but, we dont have to go anywhere because Paradise is right here and we can start entering here and right now. We dont have to pass any test or evaluation process, but we do have to work hard to overcome the main obstacle in our way: matter. The problems of being and the existence, in general, are usually very complicated issues to handle, but they are so mainly because of those, trying to rule over the search of the truth, with no real understanding of it and, even more, with very fundamental problems to communicate anything, have and are distorting and complicating things around, to the point we have to become professional philosophers, for instance, to try to understand the complications of philosophers that they, themselves, arent able to understand. Not to talk about politics and religion. But, the truth is much simpler than that, and everyone can access his own truth, with the only inconvenience that it touches his relationship with his material life. Harmony and Matter is a new perspective that might help see a little clearer the panorama of life all human beings are confronted with and all the ocean of confusion and chaos of ideas, mostly interested in preserving a material status of a very little spiritual existence that, in any case, is also very little important in the context of Universal life. Everyone would like to know, also, some tips to live the best possible life and, Harmony, as the essence of the Universe, is the only answer we can find. Here youll find the reasons why. Life is, certainly, not easy but is perfectly possible to find a recipe for a happy, healthier and creative life. There have been many attempts, in the past, to get to a comprehensive formula for happiness, from very different perspectives, and we can use as many as we want because most of them could be very useful. Harmony and Matter is just another one, from a very contemporary perspective, trying to dissect the relationship between matter and spirit, so basic in our daily life, in the most simple and clear possible way. Reality is present with us, all the time, and we have no choice than trying to understand it the best we can, in order to live a better life. A guide to the spiritual meaning and magic of the infinity symbol and how to activate its positive powers • Explains how the infinity symbol is the antidote to a negative, imbalanced world and how it can help reconnect the two halves of the brain and achieve balance and harmony in yourself, your relationships, and the wider world • Offers simple and practical exercises that harness the power of the infinity symbol for balance and harmony, including simple visualizations, physical exercises, and directed drawing of the symbol • Explores the many appearances of this universal symbol in history, mythology, different cultures, and the natural world Through the ages, the infinity symbol, a sideways figure eight, has represented eternal development and balance. Also known as the lemniscate, this powerful symbol stands for equilibrium, harmony, and the interconnectedness of all things. Although magical knowledge of symbols has often been kept secret throughout history, today the power of this symbol is available to all. In this accessible, hands-on guide, Barbara Heider-Rauter explores the spiritual world of the infinity symbol in a personal and practical way, allowing each of us to benefit from its positive influence for balance and harmony in ourselves, our relationships, and the wider world. She begins with a short exercise to attune readers to the energy field of the lemniscate. She explains how the infinity symbol offers the perfect response to a system that encourages separation and a world in which the negation of our feelings is often the source of illness and pain. She details simple exercises to reconnect the two halves of the brain, the analytical and the emotional, resulting in harmony and healing. She teaches how to use simple visualisation, physical exercises, and directed drawing of the symbol to achieve practical results in our daily lives. Beautifully illustrated in full color, the book also offers a wealth of information on the appearance of the infinity symbol through the ages in all its forms and contexts, from history and mythology to our own tiny body cells and the natural world. This book urges the reader to establish wholeness, to balance the scales of duality and find harmony. With the power of the lemniscate at hand, decisions will be made with greater ease and relationships filled with harmony and a lighter heart.
