The Man with 2 Clubs

Book Description

Welcome to the Isle of Deux where the men have not one, but TWO massive clubs hanging below their belts! How can this be? Read and see! Amy: My parents are awful people. They want me to marry me off to some dude in rehab, so I went on a long hike to clear my mind. But I came upon a secluded island … And to my surprise, it’s populated by a community of gorgeous alpha males who all have TWO huge tools! Who are these guys? Where did they come from??? Nonetheless, the loincloths can’t hide those enormous shafts. They poke out proud and glorious, thickly veined and girthy. My mouth waters even as my knees go weak because I want to try one or two … or maybe try them all! Drake: Against all odds, a random girl stumbled upon our hidden island. WTF? How the hell did that happen? Nonetheless, we can’t let Amy go without being punished. She’s going to be offered up as a sacrifice … On an altar … With all my brothers watching … As she takes my hard, heavy tools BOTH ways, simultaneously. See? The curvy girl showed up at the altar just like her parents wanted … …. They just didn’t expect her to be married to a man like me! This is a follow-up to Carl and Chloe’s tale in The Lumberjack with 2 Rods. Can you believe the premise of these stories? The Isle of Deux is named “Deux” because you guessed it – the inhabitants are handsome brutes with peculiar anatomy that promises DOUBLE the pleasure for the curvy girls they tame! Break out your life jackets because you’ll need them to stay afloat during this wild ride! Even better, there’s a whirlwind wedding at the end where the totally unexpected happens. As always, my stories are standalones and do not need to be read in order. HEA guaranteed.

King of Clubs

Book Description

It began as a Depression-era, winner-take-all challenge between two Chicago stockbrokers, one of them a flamboyant daredevil with more guts than money and the other with more money than sense. It erupted into a national news story, one never told in its entirety—until King of Clubs: The Great Golf Marathon of 1938. In September 1938, thirty-two-year-old J. Smith Ferebee agreed to play 600 holes of golf in eight cities, from Los Angeles to New York, over four consecutive days. The ordeal meant playing more than thirty-three rounds in just ninety-six hours. The stakes: Ferebee’s friend and former business partner Fred Tuerk agreed that if Ferebee succeeded, he would pay on Ferebee’s behalf a $20,000 mortgage on 296 acres of waterfront Virginia land. If Ferebee lost, he would surrender to Tuerk his ownership stake in the property. Brokers on LaSalle Street in Chicago piled up bets. Before long, the marathon was estimated to be worth $100,000, or well more than $1 million today. Playing despite a severe leg injury, Ferebee faced one obstacle after another, including a gambler’s brazen sabotage attempt in Philadelphia. He started the morning rounds before dawn and ended the afternoon rounds in darkness, with lighting provided by spectators’ cars, local fire departments, or flares. Remarkably, Ferebee never lost a ball. Combining the appeal of Seabiscuit and The Greatest Game Ever Played, King of Clubs will amaze and entertain readers from opening drive to final putt.

The Jacobin Clubs in the French Revolution, 1793-1795

Book Description

A pendant to two well-received books by the same author on the departmental clubs during the early years of the Revolution, this book is the product of thirty years of scholarly study, including archival research in Paris and in more than seventy departments in France. It focuses on the twenty-eight months from May 1793 to August 1795, a period spanning the Federalist Revolt, the Terror, and the Thermidorian Reaction. The Federalist Revolt, in which many clubs were involved, had momentous consequences for all of them and was, in the local setting, the principal cause of the Reign of Terror, a period in which more than 5,300 communes had clubs that reached the zenith of their power and influence, engaging in a myriad of political, administrative, judicial, religious, economic, social, and war-related activities. The book ends with their decline and final dissolution by a decree of the Convention in Paris.
