ANCIENT CHINESE PROPHECIES TILL THE END OF THE WORLD, contains prophecies on events in China and the world, spanning over five thousand years, and till the end of the world as we know it. More recent prophecies are about the Red Guards, the Gang of Four in China, and the future of Taiwan. But, how dangerous is the conflict between the U.S. and China over Taiwan? Will China be unified? When? What will happen to the U.S., China, and the world? What effect does the lure of American style democracy and consumerism have on China? In the distant future, will there be an Apocalypse? Armageddon? When will this happen? Thereafter, Utopia and racial harmony, or the end of the world? Again, when will all this happen? The prophecies are translated from the works of Imperial Astrologers from Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD), a Prime Minister from the Three Kingdoms period (220-280 AD), and the first Prime Minister from Zhou Dynasty (1122-221 BC). Since the publication of the first edition in 2000, and the second edition in 2002, many prophecies have already become realities. National Missile Defense, NMD, is to contain Russia and China. Even with the war on terrorism after 9-11, U.S., Taiwan and Japan co-operate to guard against China, and Taiwan independence advocates even want to drag the U.S. into fighting for them. Taiwan's staged presidential assassination on March 19, 2004, is predicted in Diagram 41. This third edition includes the original Chinese scripture, and states the year when China and the U.S. will collide over Taiwan. The prophecies in this book can be interpreted more clearly than those of Nostradamus!

In 1947 the young Raimonds Staprans emigrated with his family from Latvia to America, and for the past half century the artist and playwright has lived and worked in the San Francisco Bay Area. In Raimonds Staprans: Art of Tranquility and Turbulence, Paul Karlstrom investigates the realism and abstraction in Staprans's work, focusing on the more edgy and self-revealing paintings by bringing the artist's life experience and personal psychology prominently into the equation. Karlstrom recognizes that the meaning of Staprans's work cannot be understood solely in terms of the painterly skill and aesthetic beauty that characterize the landscapes, marines, and still lifes. Neither can it be fully appreciated in the minimalist abstraction with which Staprans qualifies his realism. Rather, the key to understanding is hidden in the secret life and philosophical preoccupation that emerged in the author's interviews with the artist. Two prominent writers provide brief essays dealing with Staprans as a "trans-Atlanticist": Latvian cultural critic Helena Demakova brings the perspective of the artist's native country to his American émigré story. American art historian Peter Selz examines realism's rich modernist potential in Staprans and other artists who have pushed realism to discover new conceptual and aesthetic truths.Staprans is also a writer, known in Latvia mainly for his work for the stage, and excerpts from his writings provide insight into his painting.

New York Times–bestselling author: A paradigm-shifting guide to moving through fear and embracing what matters most in life—love When we travel at the speed of love, we choose to live in a frequency of unconditional love. Today, most of us travel at the frequency of fear and live with a victim consciousness. When we’re traveling at the fear frequency, no matter how fast we go, we can never get to our destination. The victim consciousness is based on the premise: "I have no choice." Traveling at the speed of love means taking our power back. We’re actually in a different universe when we travel at the speed of love. Our world is not a menacing, threatening race geared to cheat death. It becomes, at any moment, so satisfying that if this were our last moment on Earth, that would be okay. This is not to say that change is easy. To travel at the speed of love might require a complete paradigm shift in the way you look at your everyday existence. In this fascinating book, Sonia Choquette provides a practical, in-the-trenches guide that will reveal how you can reprogram your brain and change your life for the better. Ask yourself this question: What frequency are you traveling on right now?

In a global economy beset by concerns over a growth recession, financial volatility, and rising inflation, countries in the Western Hemisphere have been among the few bright spots in recent years. This has not come as a surprise to those following the significant progress achieved by many countries in recent years, both in macroeconomic management and on the structural and institutional front. Hence, there can be little doubt, as this book argues, that economic and financial linkages between Latin America, the United States, and other important regions of the world economy have undergone profound change.

The current, if uneasy, harmony that exists among the great powers was fostered by the collapse of communism as a militant ideology, by the emergence of economics as a primary emphasis of governments, by nuclear weapons, which made war exceedingly dangerous, and by the spread of democracy. Democratic great powers favor the tranquility of the post-Cold War era and they are unlikely to seek dramatic change. One development that could change the status quo is European political unity, which would almost inevitably exclude Russia; however, such unity is unlikely in the near term. Russia and China, the great powers that are not fully or irrevocably democracies, are the great post-Cold War question marks. Political uncertainty and the continuing vibrancy of nationalism, combined with irredentist claims, mean that the need to rally political support at home can lead to assertive international rhetoric and action. Conflicts within and between peripheral states are the source of most turbulence in today's world. Most of these conflicts have little real importance to the great powers. However, nuclear proliferation among peripheral states is a source of instability the great powers cannot overlook.
