This report is the third in a series on nutrition monitoring in the United States. The report is based on data gathered by the National Nutrition Monitoring and Related Research Program (NNMRRP) since the second nutrition monitoring report was completed, giving special emphasis to low-income and high-risk population subgroups. Focusing on nutrients of public health concern, the report provides an update on the dietary, nutritional, and nutrition-related health status of Americans; the relationships between diet and health; and the factors that influence dietary and nutritional status.
