Giambattista Tiepolo (19696 ? 1770) enjoyed a reputation as the greatest Venetian painter of his time. He received commissions from royal courts and wealthy art collectors. This book examines Tiepolo's work from a Northern European perspective. Many of the artworks presented reached their destinations already in the eighteenth century, but others made their way to the Northern art collections during the following century.00The essays written by international experts, explore new territories and present findings based on recent archive research.
