Typescript of Land Survey Records from the Town of Shrewsbury, Vermont


Book Description

Typescript of two town record books containing land survey records for lots in the town of Shrewsbury, Vermont, dating from 1780 to 1788. The first record book lists the lots numerically, beginning with lot number 19 and ending with lot number 200, though there are surveys for five unnumbered lots following the numbered lots. As well, there follow eleven pages with the heading "Description of Lots Having No Numbers Such as the Governors Tract..." The only date recorded on these records is 1788. The second record book contains transcriptions of land surveys dating from 1780 to 1787. Included is a transcription of a partial index to the surveys. Both transcriptions contain a detailed note by the transcriber, Mattie M. Adams, of the methodology she followed in making the transcriptions.
