In both the 1954 and 1947 Censuses, reports were required from all establish ments employing one or more persons at any time during. The census year, whereas in prior censuses, establishments with less than value of products were excluded. The change in the minimum size limit in 1947 does not appreciably affect the historical comparability of the Census figures except for data on number of establishments for a few industries.
