Yadon--Pennybaker Family History


Book Description

Emigrant ancestor of this family was Joseph Preston Yadon (1756-1843), who was born in Dublin?, Ireland. He came to America during the Revolutionary War. He was a son of Jacob Yadon and Elizabeth Proctor. He married Mary Susannah Pennybaker (1763-1838), daughter of Jacob Pennybaker and Christina Dotterer in 1782 in Berkley Co., West Virginia. Family lived first in Virginia and sometime between 1801 and 1802 moved to Grainger Co., Tennessee. They had nine children born in Virginia, and three in Tennessee. Descendants live in Tennessee, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Colorado and elsewhere.

John A. Jones was born in 1821 in Kentucky. Around 1840, he married Mahala Capps and they had nine children. He died in 1895 while Mahala died in 1920 in Texas. Their descendants lived in Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, California, and elsewhere.
