During that time, she faced many challenges such as inadequate funding, heavy teaching and coaching responsibilities, budgets controlled by the men's athletic program, poor facilities, and team tragedies yet, with passionate determination and high standards, she transformed the women's athletics program at Muskingum into one that was consistently respected at the state, regional, and national levels. You Must Play to Win! is a collection of Donna Newberry's personal reflections on her hugely successful career of commitment to excellence and gender equality in sport during a time of dramatic change in women's collegiate athletics. The book was completed late in 2010 as Donna was dying of breast cancer.
