The report highlights the number of businesses in Mississippi for 2000, women-owned and minority-owned businesses, business turnover, and employment among small businesses. The report includes statistics on firms and employment in Mississippi by industry and firm size, as well as the number of banks in Mississippi by asset size. In 2000, there were 53,509 employer businesses, of which roughly 96.9% were small businesses.
