With a book size of 8.5 x 8.5 inches and only 4 puzzles per page, the 400 Sudoku Puzzles series is not intended for carrying in a Pocket or Handbag. The main purpose of the extra-large book size is to provide the solver with large, clear and easy to read puzzles. None of the Sudoku Puzzles in the Easy series of books require any sort of advanced solving techniques. In most puzzles there are two or more cells that can be filled in at any one time. In my classic Sudoku puzzles, the grid is 9 cells wide and 9 cells deep. The lines of squares running horizontally are called rows, and the lines running vertically are called columns. The grid is further divided by thicker lines into nine 3 x 3 square boxes. The aim of the puzzle is to fill the blank cells with the correct numbers. Each row, column and 3 x 3 box must end up containing all of the numbers from 1 to 9.
