Book Description

Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.

The Flemish, Dutch and German Schools of Painting

Book Description

Excerpt from The Flemish, Dutch and German Schools of Painting After the very kind and flattering reception which the Italian Schools of Painting has met with from the public, it will not, perhaps, be necessary to bring forward much prefatory matter on the present occasion; since this short account of the great Northern Schools Is arranged and conducted on a similar plan, and intended, in some sort, as a continuation of the former work. One point, however, it may not be amiss to touch upon, but it is merely relative to matters of orthography.
