Two methods of instruction, traditional text-driven science instruction and inquiry-based science instruction, were implemented in a fourth-grade classroom of 41 students. Results showed that students using the inquiry method scored better on chapter tests by 5.69 percent. They also showed an increase in positive attitudes toward learning science.
