As the disciplines of anthropology and history evolve, as time passes, studies with changing emphases and theoretical orientations are being completed and accumulated. This is the pattern of research for the central portion of the Mojave Desert, the subject of this study. The continued research and management of the cultural resources in this region will benefit from this study by compiling these previous works in a synthetic and analytical fashion.
