Please send me the proper authority to sell and we can then determine what is best to be done with the proceeds in case the Trustees of the Jurisdiction (missionary Jurisdiction of Asheville) do not approve of fencing the land. I would rather not have this matter discussed here as some of the old ladies in the Parish are fond of interfering and in matters of business, I think the least said the better. As the Treasurer of the Parish I presume I am the proper one to attend to these matters. Mr. Rooney has not yet grasped the situation here so I have not troubled him with the details as here set out. Have merely told him that I was going to dispose of it if possible. As I understand, the building was never consecrated as it was intended for uses as a school, as well as church building. [the building was consecrated April 28, The price will be determined by a competent and honest carpenter and builder.
