Excerpt from Laboratory Determination of the Explosibility of Coal Dust and Air Mixtures The apparatus is shown in Plate 1 and figure 1. The essential features are the explosion globe at, the igniting tube 6, the pressure recording device 0, the lifting device 03, and auxiliary devices for measuring the temperature of the igniting tube and for throwing the dust into suspension. The explosion globe, capacity c. C., is fitted with tubulures at its top and bottom. The lower tubulure is provided with a rubber gasket, and the upper tubulure presses against a rubber gasket cemented to'the head of the apparatus.
