Excerpt from A Short Practice in Gynaecology The present edition of A Short Practice of Gynaecology has been submitted to a careful revision throughout, so as to make it represent, as far as possible in a book of the size, the present state of gynmcological practice. In particular, the chapters dealing with operations have been largely rewritten, and much new matter added to them. My publishers have further consented to the addition of a large number of illustrations, for which concession I am very grateful, as it is impossible satisfactorily to describe gynaecological operations without the help of numerous illustra tions.
