Excerpt from Act of Incorporation: Constitution, by-Laws and Sailing Regulations of the St. Augustine Yacht Club The people of the State of Florida represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows: Section i. R. F. Armstrong, Oliver Bronson, Charles F. Crary, Daniel Edgar, Newbold Edgar, John Low, S. S. Morton, A. E. Douglas, J. H. Janeway, and such other persons as are now associated as a Yacht Club in the City of St. Augustine, or may hereafter become associated with them, are hereby constituted a body corporate by the name of the "Saint-Augustine Yacht Club to be located in the City of St. Augustine," Florida, for the purpose of the improvement of yacht building and the encouragement of yacht sailing.
