Advances in Energy Research, Vol. 2

Book Description

This book presents selected papers from the 6th International Conference on Advances in Energy Research (ICAER 2017), which cover topics ranging from energy optimization, generation, storage and distribution, and emerging technologies, to energy management, policy, and economics. The book is inter-disciplinary in scope and addresses a host of different areas relevant to energy research, making it of interest to scientists, policymakers, students, economists, rural activists, and social scientists alike.

Advances in Energy Research. Volume 4

Book Description

Vol. 2: Presents a review of energy storage systems; oil shale extraction and applications; properties and sources of diesel fuels; and, the rational use of renewable energy on Earth. This book discusses fermentable sugar production from lignocellulois biomass in the production of renewable biofuels and other bio-products.

Advances in Energy Research. Volume 38

Advances in Energy Research

Book Description

Volume 32 opens with a comprehensive review of technologies for the reutilisation of waste cryogenic energy from the liquefied natural gas regasification process at terminals and on marine vessels. The authors discuss the primary renewable energy source in Cuba; biomass. Although sugarcane biomass has the most significant energy potential, some other biomass energy sources are also relevant at the local level and are convenient from an environmental standpoint. Invisibility cloaks of various types have been researched extensively in recent years with one of the first being the electrostatic cloak, so-named because it effectively screens an internal volume from, and offers no disturbance to, an external static electric field. As such, this compilation explores this phenomenon and whether the cloaked object (or the cloak itself) could be detected by various means. The concluding study explores how, in order to reduce the consumption of oil for electricity generation by 20% in Cuba, the country should build a total of 13 wind farms with a capacity of 633 MW.

Book Description

This book presents a comprehensive review of energy storage systems; oil shale extraction and applications; properties and sources of diesel fuels; and the rational use of renewable energy on Earth. Discussed in this compilation is fermentable sugar production from lignocellulois biomass in the production of renewable biofuels and other bio-products and the effects of chemical structure on oil shale pyrolysis. This book also presents a review of energy storage and redistribution associated with photovoltaic energy as well as the deep oxidative desulfurisation of diesel fuels by heteropoly acid mesoporous composite catalysts.

Advances in Clean Energy and Sustainability, Volume 2

Book Description

This book presents the proceedings of the 9th edition of the International Conference on Advances in Energy Research (ICAER 2023) and delves into the research trends of energy systems in terms of generation, storage and distribution so they can become more sustainable in the future. The topics covered include conventional, non-conventional and renewable energy technologies, energy storage and conversion, energy policy, energy economics, energy efficiency and management, electric vehicles and smart grids and the social and environmental aspects of energy. The topics presented in the book are a combination of experimental and modeling studies which include simulation, design and optimization of the systems. This proceedings volume is a compendium of the latest advances in energy research for scientific researchers, policymakers, academicians, and industry experts. It is also expected to benefit economists, rural activists, and social scientists, among others.
