Book Description
A review of group therapy literature for 1968 indicated a wide diversity of viewpoints and approaches in the field of group psychotherapy. One variable of interest in group work is the arrangement and use of time in this setting. A critique of marathon groups suggested that a study of the relative effectiveness of massed and spaced therapy should be tested. Four areas of previous research are reviewed, including the arrangement of time in group therapy and sensitivity training groups, the marathon group, the encountertapes, and research related to the validity of dependent variable measures used in experiment.
