Andrean, Deslar & Paper Gods

Book Description

Andrean, Deslar & Paper Gods Not every female hero has to be a size zero… Follow this polyamorous trio, Andrean, Wayne & Frea, as they struggle to save their love while getting drawn into a planetary civil war on the newest world in the confederation, Deslar. When Andrean, a sentient, nanite, shapeshifting female & Wayne, a starship freighter captain, meet Frea, a lounge singing phenom with the astounding ability to sing in harmony with herself, their fates were forever intertwined. There are greater forces in the galaxy that conspire to keep them apart, not the least of which is the civil war on Deslar. In the few years it had been in the confederacy, Deslar had begun evolving its new human inhabitants into gods and super beings. This ignited the civil war as the Newmen, that’s what they were calling themselves, ‘new men’, decided a change in governance was in order. Our three find themselves smack dab in the middle of the conflict trying to reclaim their love and at the same time save the planet of Deslar from annihilation by its own hands or others. Over three thousand years after the final battle over the soul of mankind, between God, Satan, and Nefarious, destroys the earth, a new chapter begins. The resulting hyperspace blast from the earth’s destruction flings the last of humanity into the furthest reaches of space on their surviving starships. Over a 300 years passes before these star cast seeds of mankind reclaim the stars, and begin to find each other. The first of the new worlds to find each other and reconnect old humanity on new worlds, would eventually form The Confederation of Republic Worlds. This union would be marked with the erection of the Jara Timekeeping Tower on Jara Prime, broadcasting a synced time throughout the known universe. This is the Jara Era.

The Dark Son of Deslar

Book Description

Not every female hero, has to be a size zero… The Dark Son of Deslar Andrean, Wayne & Frea managed to save the planet of Deslar from its own destruction as well as its destruction at the hands of the confederacy, it having considered a planet of gods and super being a threat. The same salvation however, did not find its way to the bond of our trio. The pull of royal responsibility leaves our three torn asunder and hearts broken. I AM Andrean: The Dark Son of Deslar : Book 2 Over three thousand years after the final battle over the soul mankind, between God, Satan, and Nefarious, destroys the earth, a new chapter begins. The Night of Jack & Jill

Book Description

The Night of Jack & Jill The idea of superheroes is very much alive and well in the Jara Era. Over the millennia the root of superpowers has changed and evolved, but the idea of those who are endowed with powers beyond those of mortal men of picking up the vigilant mantle has persisted. In this time however, technology being what it is, and big bang humans that evolved on different worlds, with different survival abilities make it a little more common. Lets take for instance Naya & her stepfather Wayne. Naya was born on the high gravity world of Torrey 9. Off her homeworld her strength was nothing short of incredible. Wayne was a genius nanite engineer. He had constructed a nanite muscle super suit that allowed him to stand toe to toe with the super powered being in the civil war one Deslar Now most of the time Wayne was a potato farmer and Naya was a middle school student with a very extensive comic book collection, as many based on fictional heroes as real. Sometimes there is the perfect storm of happenstance where too many comic books and too little motherly supervision result in a one off night of playing superhero. TOGETHER (and with the moms out of town) They are Power Jack & Jill 4 the Kill !

Jack & Jill Jump Jakaro

Book Description

Naya and her stepfather, the only father she has ever known, have a secret. They play superheroes together. In the distant future, in the Jara Era, there are still superheroes, those sorts endowed with superpowers by homeworld of birth or technology in their possession. Naya and her stepdad Wayne are two such sorts. Naya by her very nature has incredible durability and strength hailing from the home world of Torrey 9, the highest gravity of any human inhabited planet in the confederacy. Her stepdad’s power is rooted in nature too. With his genius level nanite architecture skill he has actually created life. This same skill set allowed him to create nanite Jack Suit technology. In this skin of nearly indestructible muscle tissue he was a mere mortal man able to stand toe to toe with near gods in the Deslarian Civil War. Too many comic books and the lack of the mothers’ supervision prompted them to slip off into the city one night and have their hand at playing superhero. IT WAS A HOOT! Lives were saved. Evil was foiled and the day was saved, well the night actually (The Night of Jack & Jill). As fun as it was, the time that was had, Wayne was not doing ‘responsible dad’. To be a responsible upstanding pop, Wayne swore he would never be that reckless again. In part, because even as strong as Jill was, even stronger than him in his suit, her mother was even stronger. She might literally kill him if she found out...So never again… UNTIL THIS DAY!

The Ballad of Iron Kelly

Book Description

As the deep sea once gave rise to pirates, so also did deep space . The crew of The Twenty-Wun Stars is one such group of opportunistic souls. This exceptional group of serendipitous scoundrels find themselves under the leadership of Captain Jake Wade. The swaggering mojo at which this man moves thru life is literally infectious. The Captain and the crew travel the galaxy, always on the lookout for their next big score, with pirate booty for all, and to keep the rum taps flowing in the mess hall. The Ballad of Iron Kelly Kelly Irene, AKA Iron Kelly, is an invaluable member of the crew of the “Pirates of the Twenty-Wun Stars”. As a soldier in the civil war on Winston Proper she was in possession of two very, oversized for her body, cybernetic war amrs. Each arm could transform into a triple barrel particle cannon that could take out a tank. She was the type of military personnel that would get her own piece on a strategic war board. This type of augmentation does not usually exist outside of war times and a war zone, and for that matter on a person of her size, but thru a turn of events she ended up part of the crew of the Twenty-Wun Stars. This is that story. Over three thousand years after the final battle over the soul mankind, between God, Satan, and Nefarious, destroys the earth, a new chapter begins. The resulting hyperspace blast from the earth’s destruction flings the last of humanity into the furthest reaches of space on their surviving starships. Over a 300 years passes before these star cast seeds of mankind reclaim the stars, and begin to find each other. The Godwynne Mutiny

Book Description

As the deep sea once gave rise to pirates, so also did deep space . The crew of The Twenty-Wun Stars is one such group of opportunistic souls. This exceptional group of serendipitous, star faring fortune hunters find themselves under the leadership of Captain Jake Wade. The swaggering mojo at which this man moves thru life is literally infectious. The Captain and the crew travel the galaxy, always on the lookout for their next big score, to keep both the ship & rum taps running. This is the first instance where the crew of the Twenty-Wun Stars is introduced as they cross paths with two characters from the I AM Andrean series. The Godwynne Mutiny There was this one time when the crew picked up two stowaways, a rather brilliant average looking bloke named Godwynne and his rather exceptional looking lady friend Miss Becka. Miss Becka was a pretty enough looking lass, but she was a good head taller than her friends and he was at least 6 feet tall. She was a big gal, as strong as she was big if not more so. She had to be every bit of 300 pound and 6 and a half feet tall. If that weren't enough to stand out, she also possessed a pair of breasts that entered the room before she did. Mister Godwynne was a brainy sort but not the scaredy, nerdy kind. He had a mouth on him that even as smooth talking as he was would have got him bopped if Miss weren’t at his side, as she almost always was. Miss Becka won’t no regular woman. I saw her take a straight cyborg arm jaw punch from Miss Iron Kelly and not even shift her stance. The ancient earth poets Wu-Tang said it first, but Miss Becka won’t nothin ta fuck wit. Like I said Mister Godwynne was a brainy sort. He dropped this 2 billion credit score in the lap of the captain and they moved up the food chain. I wish I could say it went off without a hitch, but the gig turned sideways, shots were fired and new enemies were made. Things got a little uneasy after that and I saw something I thought I would never see, a mutiny. My Name is Uncle Dave, that's what the crew calls me anyway. We are a ship of fortune at best and a pirate ship on our worst days, and this is the tale of the Godwynne Mutiny Over three thousand years after the final battle over the soul mankind, between God, Satan, and Nefarious, destroys the earth, a new chapter begins. Global Cities, Governance and Diplomacy

Book Description

The book argues that looking at global cities can bring about three fundamental advantages on traditional IR paradigms. First, it facilitates an eclectic turn towards more nuanced analyses of world politics. Second, it widens the horizon of the discipline through a multiscalar image of global governance. Third, it underscores how global cities have a strategic diplomatic positioning when it comes to core contemporary challenges such as climate change.

The Conduct of Inquiry in International Relations

Book Description

This volume ws the winner of The International Studies Association Theory Section Book Award 2013, presented by the International Studies Association and The Yale H. Ferguson Award 2012, presented by International Studies Association-Northeast. There are many different scientifically valid ways to produce knowledge. The field of International Relations should pay closer attention to these methodological differences, and to their implications for concrete research on world politics. The Conduct of Inquiry in International Relations provides an introduction to the philosophy of science issues and their implications for the study of global politics. The author draws attention to the problems caused by the misleading notion of a single unified scientific method, and proposes a framework that clarifies the variety of ways that IR scholars establish the authority and validity of their empirical claims. Jackson connects philosophical considerations with concrete issues of research design within neopositivist, critical realist, analyticist, and reflexive approaches to the study of world politics. Envisioning a pluralist science for a global IR field, this volume organizes the significant differences between methodological stances so as to promote internal consistency, public discussion, and worldly insight as the hallmarks of any scientific study of world politics. This important volume will be essential reading for all students and scholars of International Relations, Political Science and Philosophy of Science.

Toward a Ludic Architecture

Book Description

“Toward a Ludic Architecture†is a pioneering publication, architecturally framing play and games as human practices in and of space. Filling the gap in literature, Steffen P. Walz considers game design theory and practice alongside architectural theory and practice, asking: how are play and games architected? What kind of architecture do they produce and in what way does architecture program play and games? What kind of architecture could be produced by playing and gameplaying?
