Following her elder companion, Idormis Rahn, Joan leaves the Celestial Empire on a mission to retrieve the most powerful artefact in the Majeste: the Tears of God. She intends to use them as a heavenly bond in the historic union of her native world of Abishia to its rival Emynct. The Cherubim know the Tears will attract the attention of the Skorth Lord and his ghastly soldiers from Outer Darkness, so the angel knights must not let them fall into the hands of evil. But fighting the Skorth Lord and his soldiers may not be Joan's biggest challenge, as she encounters the Succubus Mistress Indra, who tempts Joan with unlocking the mystery of her forgotten past life.
