Angels, The

Book Description

The Angels roared out of the 1970s with multi-platinum albums, hits and record-breaking tours. The band was formed by the trio of Rick and John Brewster and Doc Neeson. Songs from their classic albums are as pertinent today as they were when they were released, thanks to John and Rick, the genius songwriting team, who, together with Doc, generated some of the greatest rock ever produced in this country. During the 2000s the Brewsters and Doc fell out and legal battles ensued. Eventually they settled differences and reformed, but Doc was ill and died in 2014. The Angels have since risen phoenix-like, with Screaming Jets front-man Dave Gleeson on vocals. With the Brewsters' twin-guitar attack in full flight and passion and ambitions reignited, they are once again at the top of the rock 'n' roll greasy pole. New albums, sell-out tours, rock festivals with thousands singing every song and roaring the infamous chant during the evergreen "Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again". Over the past two years they've regaled long-time associate Bob Yates with the inside story, warts and all. The result is the definitive book about one of Australia's most iconic rock bands.

Quantum Angels and Other Spacetime Anomalies

Book Description

The poetic selections in this volume reflect the author's thoughts on a variety of angels, including beings -- so-called real as well as so-called imaginary -- the author has personally encountered during his lifetime; others ponder the author's experiences, real and imaginary, concerning the concept of angels. Some of the angel verses in this selection are based on astrological/planetary attributions and, consequently, reflect Greek, Roman, Qabalistic and Christian mythologies. Others are purely speculative and issue from the author's imagination. Most of the verses in this poetic selection consider the author's imaginative views of various philosophies, psychologies, cosmologies and quantum physics. Eleven of the eighty four verses in this selection also appear in the author's previous work, TAROT: Poetic Revelations and Other Verses.

Principles of Angels

Book Description

Khesh City floats above the surface of the uninhabitable planet of Vellern. Topside, it's extravagant, opulent, luxurious; the Undertow is dark, twisted and dangerous. Khesh City is a place where nothing is forbidden - but it's also a democracy, of sorts, a democracy by assassination, policed by the Angels, the élite, state-sponsored killers who answer only to the Minister, their enigmatic master. Taro lived with Malia, his Angel aunt, one of the privileged few, until a strange man bought his body for the night, then followed him home and murdered Malia in cold blood. Taro wants to find the killer who ruined his future, but he's struggling just to survive in the brutal world of the Undertow. Then an encounter with the Minister sets him on a new course, spying for the City; his target is a reclusive Angel called Nual. Elarn Reen is a famous musician, sent to Khesh City as the unwilling agent of mankind's oldest enemy, the Sidhe. To save her own life, she must find and kill her ex-lover, a renegade Sidhe. Though they come from different worlds, Taro and Elarn's fates are linked, their lives apparently forfeit to other people's schemes. As their paths converge, it becomes clear that the lives of everyone in Khesh City, from the majestic, deadly Angels to the barely-human denizens of the Undertow, are at risk. And Taro and Elarn, a common prostitute and an uncommon singer, are Khesh City's only chance ...
