It will inspire and introduce careers to elementary school readers, particularly those who are minority and come from low-income and first-generation families. In Angelica the Great I Am, a young girl magically discovers through her dreams her real purpose for living. So often children get lost within the information age where so much is absorbed. It often becomes difficult to find oneself, and it subsequently manifests into adulthood. At what magical point in time do children first learn to just appreciate who they are and later learn more about themselves and how their uniqueness contributes to the world? I envision this book to help children love themselves, to help children tap into their individual gifts and talents early in life, and to help children experimentally examine careers that will spark their fullest potential.
