Book Description
Excerpt from Annual Publication of the Historical Society of Southern California and of the Pioneers of Los Angeles County, 1903, Vol. 6 Recently the allied societies applied to the City Council for permission to erect a pole over the Broadway tunnel, and this was granted with the understanding that the work should be done under the supervision of Julius W. Krause, the City Superintendent Off Buildings. It is his intention to have the pole set in cement, thus insuring its solidity, for it is expected to remain for many years as a landmark in the city. The flag is to be provided by Stanton Post G. A. R., the Women's Re lief Corps, Daughters Oi the American Revolution and other patriotic organizations.
