Excerpt from Annual Register of Officers and Members of the Society of Colonial Wars: Constitution of the General Society The General Society of Colonial Wars was organized on May 9 and 10, 1893 in the Governor's Room, City Hall, New-York, by delegates from five States and the District of Columbia. A Constitution was adopted on May 10, 1893, subject to the approval of a majority of the delegates present at an adjourned meeting of the General Assembly, and the General Officers were then elected. An adjourned meeting of the General Assembly was held at the Hotel New Netherland, New-York City, on December 19, 1893, and the Constitution as amended unanimously adopted.
